Montreal’s Salvatore Parasuco began the jeans company in 1975 as Santana Jeans and switched to Parasuco in 1988 to enter the US market. The denim-crazed label is straight-forward when you walk into the flagship store on the corner of Ste-Catherine at 1414 Crescent Street. While foreigners go bonkers for Parasuco, they rightfully do so for several reasons.

“Their garment construction is substantially strong for they are not into the mass production game,” says Liz Gelerman, a graduated Montreal fashion student currently working as a freelance designer. “They are up-to-date in their trends and their prices are reasonable for their niche…which is teenagers and young adults who are not willing to invest in $400 to $1000 jeans.” Gelerman also went on to say that the staff at Parasuco is extremely helpful in creating silhouettes for their clients.

Just above Ste-Catherine on the east side of Crescent Street is men’s design label giant Hugo Boss with their sleek classy boutique. Perfection is the name of their game, with tailoring topping their impeccable sewing and patterns. You pay for what you get, not only in their products, but in the visuals and merchandising. All the pieces are visible when you walk in and their suits are as sharply constructed to fit any man’s two to three piece needs.
