All the hotels MNT works with are strategically located in the heart of downtown Montreal, so everything in the downtown area – clubs, restaurants, shops & boutiques - is accessible either traveling by foot or short cab ride. If a bus is part of your package, it will be at your service for the organized group excursions (i.e. the city tour, going to the nightclubs, and we have organized shuttles to and from various places in downtown Montreal).
In case you don’t want to walk, you can use:
Taxis The starting fare is $3.15 and then $1.45 per kilometer. (updated May 31, 2006)
Buses The cash fare is $2.50, a weekly pass is $18.50$. The tourist card is 9$ for 1 day, or 17$ for 3 days. (updated May 31, 2006) for more info
Metro The fares are the same as the buses, and for traveling downtown you should stick with the green and oranges lines. for more info.
Limousine If you want to ride in style, take a tour of Montreal by limo. Or need a ride to your hotel from the airport? Legal limo capacities are 8 passengers per limo.
Car Note to reader: You cannot turn right on red in Montreal. If you come by car, be careful if you decide to drive it around the city. Traffic signs are difficult to understand and drivers have tempers, so please be careful.
Bike There is a bike path that actually perimeters the entire island. Wear a helmet and enjoy the ride!
Thanks so much for all you did for us this past weekend. Everyone had a great time. I look forward to our next encounter with each other.
Thanks so much Johnny.
