Montreal Nightlife Travel presents: New Year's Eve at its BestExperiencing New Year's Eve in Montreal is an event no one should miss. Montreal Nightlife Travel documented last year's festivities to show the world a sample of the pulsating partying that increases every year. Thus, the rumors are true; Montreal celebrates New Year's Eve like no other city. Reading into the hype of Montreal's New Year's Eve festivities assures all partygoers one basic detail: leaving your plans until the last minute will definitely result in potholes to party. From private hotel parties to the hottest nightclubs and colossal venues such as the Just for Laughs Museum or the transformed Bell Centre (home of the Montreal Canadiens, which transforms into a ridiculous rave), Montreal offers parties for any style, in all shapes, shades and flavors.
Yet when a visitor comes down to Montreal, from hotel accommodations to partying reservations...everything seems to shape majestically with Montreal Nightlife Travel. And with the ever-growing party list for December 31st, the simple mistake of not planning and booking can cause anyone to regret overlooking such an effortless yet assuring task: Book your parties in advance.
The CompanyAt Montreal Nightlife Travel (MNT), our goal is to make sure everyone wakes up on New Year's Day with some sort of recollection of the wild partying. From the massive bar-hop and its featured venues on December 30th to the actual countdown parties of December 31st, last year's parties were so well coordinated that lineups and winter jackets were easily replaced with flowing liquor and blaring music in only a matter of a few minutes. As MNT President Angelo D'Ambra and his supporting staff of Montreal Nightlife Travel prepped each group's package prior to December 30th, my task was to document and observe how the guests of Montreal Nightlife Travel discover the cream of the crop with the company's offered services. "The planning and preparation begins in September for New Year's Eve," explained D'Ambra, who officially started Montreal Nightlife Travel in 2001. "The number of guests doubles every year, which supports our hard work. It's time to document the good times." Check out our New Year's Eve video!
The Partyers![]() Hot water aside, the winter weather in Montreal does not favor skimpy clothes without a big warm parka coat or jacket. Yet from Tim's testimonial to the herds of buses arriving from Ontario, New England and the Tri-State Area, the cold winter weather somehow enhances everyone's partying energy. "I've been cooped up in the library all semester," said Sandy from London, Ontario. "I've been dreaming about the next two nights since November and I'm so ready to go wild."
The PartiesOn December 30th, we followed many of our guests along the Coor's barhop, which featured 20 clubs, 40 DJs and 17,000 people. While our task was to envision and record the party as it took place, often enough we would end up partying with our clients.
On the Barhop evening (the Eve of New Year's Eve), we were able to get inside Jet Nightclub before it opened and interviewed one of the pretty barmaids named Jasmine. On New Year's Eve night, it was nearly impossible to say hi to Jasmine, as the VIP bar was five-rows deep. On Crescent Street in the western part of downtown, the street is strictly devoted to entertainment. With over thirty bars and nightclubs nestled in two blocks, restaurants and cafes are all that separate the bars and nightclubs from each other. With two nights to showcase and document, it was quite surreal how System Nightclub (corner Crescent and De Maisonneuve) was able to pack in so many bottles of liquor, curvy ladies and giddy guys for two consecutive nights. The DJs took my classic song requests, hit us with some new tracks and kept ladies bumpin' and grindin' on the dance floor till the lights came on. While the MNT crew moved from one party to the next, larger party venues such as the Just for Laughs Museum's Pressure kicked off the festivities around 9 PM with the five floors amassing thousands. Might we add that the open-bar (free drinks, only tips required), impressive lighting and bass-heavy sound system proves that paying a set price and walking in with only tip-ready loonies and twonies is a great way to party.
New Year's Eve 2026Therefore, whether we documented the party accurately or just partied with wide-eyes and ear-to-ear grins, no one can go wrong for New Year's Eve in Montreal. Every banquet hall, exclusive hotel and rented lofts jump on the party list and add to the packed nightclubs, private parties and massive venues to guarantee anyone looking for their particular taste can find it. "We had clients asking for particular parties aside from the list we presented," said D'Ambra. "By finding exactly what they wanted, we succeeded in expanding our list and delighting our clients with intricate parties that no one knew about. Now with these parties offered, New Year's Eve 2026 will set records!" |
