Is tipping at the strip clubs mandatory? How do the girls make their money?

Unlike strip clubs in the States, tipping the girls here is not required. It is appreciated, but not mandatory. The girls here dance on stage to showcase themselves. If you find one that appeals to you (well, all will probably appeal to you!), you ask her to get a private dance. Private dances cost ~10$cdn each. Quite a bargain compared to Toronto strip clubs and New York strip clubs.
