As the upstairs restaurant/bistro of the famous three-floor Sir Winston Churchill Pub, Winnie’s takes the cake for pub food on Crescent since it opened in 1967. With the loyal business crowd enjoying the table d’hôte, cougar-hunting and not-so-studious university crowds also fill in for the daily drink specials. The menu rises to the challenge of bar grub, with the roast beef plate gliding past lunch and onto the dinner menu. And yes, the seven-days-a-week happy hour also features a free buffet. Lunch is a three-course table d’hôte ranging from $9 to $17 whereas the dinner menu ranges from $10 to $30. |
