The Montreal Highlights Festival is currently underway in Montreal, captivating the haute cuisine fanatics from last Thursday, February 18^th running to February 28^th. The top Montreal restaurants will be combining their top-rated chefs with 39 guest Portuguese chefs, as Portugal is the central theme of culinary type for this year’s edition.

What does this mean for nightlife? A lot of happy people will be hitting up all the best Montreal hotspots in town after enjoying dinner events everywhere. Make sure to head out to Old Montreal this weekend. Not only will the cool spots in Old Montreal West be livelier than usual, Saturday night is a MAJOR night in Old Montreal with Nuit Blanche in full effect.

The three major downtown Montreal spots for the Highlights Festival includes “Place Des Festivals”, Old Montreal and the Quay of the Old Port.

What’s actually pretty cool at the Place Des Festivals is the gallery of sketches and drawings of legendary poet, novelist, singer, songwriter Leonard Cohen. Cohen, a Montreal native, only began publicly showing his artwork in 2007. And luckily it will be on display all the way to May 9^th 2010.
